The Lake Tahoe Derby Dames Roller Derby League is holding an open recruitment night on Tuesday, January 3rd at 7:30pm at Kahle Community Center. Information on joining the Tahoe Derby Dames as well as an opportunity to skate will be available. We’re looking for energetic men and women interested in learning the sport of flat track roller derby as a skater or referee.Modern Women’s Flat Track Roller Derby is a growing international sport which includes a mixture of full-contact skating, great athletic training and an awesome grass roots do-it-yourself attitude. You’ll meet other locals with fantastic names and a great athletic attitude all here in South Lake Tahoe!The Dames offer general training for the new-on-your-skates to the well seasoned derby girl transferring to our great neck of the woods. Practices are co-ed (offering everyone the chance to skate) while bouts follow the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA/www.wftda.com) guidelines.
Equipment borrowing is on a first come/first served. Please bring a mouth guard.
